Rep counting

Give ReppUp a stable view, wait for calibration, and use complete movement cycles.

Allow or recover camera access

ReppUp needs camera access only while a challenge is active. If you denied access, open iPhone Settings → Apps → ReppUp → Camera and turn it on, then return to the challenge.

The camera indicator should turn off when you leave or close the challenge. ReppUp never records video, saves photos, or uploads camera frames.

Position the phone for squats

  • Place the phone far enough away to show your full lower body.
  • Use even lighting and keep the phone stable.
  • Face the camera at a slight angle if a direct view hides one side.
  • Wait until ReppUp reports that it is ready.
  • Use a controlled down–up cycle; shallow dips should not count.

Position the phone for push-ups

  • Place the phone low in front of you or to your side.
  • Keep a shoulder, one hand, and your hip visible for calibration.
  • Hold the top position briefly until Ready appears.
  • Move through a clear down–up cycle while keeping the planted hand still.
  • Knee-supported push-ups can work when the upper-body landmarks remain visible.

Recover from tracking loss

If required joints disappear, the hand moves, or the phone rotates, ReppUp may ask to calibrate again. Return to the starting position and wait for Ready. Recalibration should not erase valid reps already completed in the current set.

Loose clothing, dim light, a moving camera, or leaving the frame can reduce tracking quality.

Move safely

Choose a clear space and only perform movements you can comfortably complete. Stop if a movement hurts. Switch exercise or turn app blocking off whenever movement is not appropriate. ReppUp is not medical advice.
